Vinyl lettering & Graphics

Our most popular method of production is cut vinyl lettering and graphics. The examples shown on this page all all produced using this method of production.

How it works.

A design file is created either by ourselves our by our clients. This file is then processed by us, with colours separated and individual "cutting" files prepared and sent to our production system.

Self adhesive material is loaded into a plotting machine. Like the one shown above. This machine uses a tiny tungsten blade to cut the vinyl material into shapes that have been defined by the "cutting" files previously created.

Once cut the graphics are prepared and coated with an application tape. This paper based material has an adhesive coating which sticks to the face of the vinyl material. Once taped the graphics are ready for installation.

Tape is required as it keeps all parts of the graphics in the correct place- i.e. spacing and alignment of wording is retained by the use of application tape. In addition the tape prevents the vinyl material from stretching.

Design

When designing graphics for cutting it is important to remember that our plotting equipment doesn't see line thicknesses or shades. For more information on preparing your files go to our main site by clicking here.
